Operation BIM Scientist

Objective

Operation Balancing Immune (BIM)

A public organization and a public company have joined hands with some world class medical scientists from leading universities in Thailand to inaugurate OPERATION “BIM” with the aim of ensuring a good health for people around the world.  In addition, the project will give rise to a sustainable industry making valuable use of Thai fruits and grains as raw materials thus contributing to the local economy by helping maintain and increase the prices of the natural products.

OPERATION “BIM” (Balancing Immune) will ensure longevity to the world’s population, which will enable them to live happily in good health.  People’s bodies will be equipped with the preventive ability to resist health-threatening toxic chemicals, fungus, bacteria, viruses and cancerous cells.  Moreover, it can reduce all kinds of abnormalities related to auto-immune related diseases that result in skin problems, psoriasis, as well as other common illnesses including gastroenteropathy, arthrosis, diabetes, allergies, heart disease, liver and kidney inflammation, asthma, epilepsy.

Our physical ability to prevent and/or reduce abnormal symptoms in the body that cause physical deterioration and discomfort is based on the body’s ability to adjust itself to maintain a good balance of immunity to prevent infection or the negative effects of encountering intrusions of foreign or dangerous agents to the point of suffering from auto-immune diseases (auto-immunotherapy or immunomodulation)

This immunomodulation results from the increase of interleukin-2, the biomolecule that boost the body’s immune system by a moderate level that does not produce negative side-effects. At the same time, it also decreases the level of interleukin-1, the biomolecules that cause auto-immune diseases.

This ability of one’s body to boost interleukin-2 and reduce interleukin-1 has been made possible by consuming the natural products of special formula “BIM”, consisting of a synergistic combination of a variety of nutritious fruits and grains, resulting from the scientists 31 years, experience in the field, combined with modern knowledge of  biomolecules that have proven to be beneficial medicinally.

Now, by taking products from OPERATION “BIM”, we can boost the interleukin-2 level in the body by 3-4 times in 3 days without any side-effects. It  can also, at the same time, remedy auto-immune related diseases.
Interleukin-2 is approved by US-FDA for cancer treatment by intravenous administration or subcutaneous injection.  One drug company had an income of over 124 million USD from this product in 2005.  The treatment is effective but has side-effects.

The assembling of wisdom, knowledge, expertise and research experience of medical scientists from various disciplines aims to achieve this goal with the support from the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization) and Asian Phytoceuticals Public Co., Ltd. by inaugurating OPERATION “BIM” marks the first and foremost collaboration of valuable human resources of its kind in the history of Thailand’s scientific circles.
Among the 25 scientists involved in OPERATION “BIM”, those who play significant roles are:

  1. 1. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wilawan Mahabusarakam (Organic Chemist) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Souwalak Phongpaichit (Pharmacist and Microbiologist), with their 20 years or more of teaching and research experience in the Faculty of Science and  The Natural Product Research Institute of  The Prince of Songkla University.

  5. 5. Prof. Dr. Pichaet Wiriyachitra (Organic Chemist and researcher on biologically-active natural products) who has investigated the extracts and the biological activities of over 200 herbs, invited scientist at the German Cancer Research Center, lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University and Faculty of Pharmacy, Chiang Mai University with 26 years’ experience in the field and currently the CEO of Asian Phytoceuticals Public Co., Ltd.

History of OPERATION “BIM”  It began in 1977 when a group of scientists from The Prince of Songkla University received advice from a janitor of the University (Mr. Khio Phatcharin) about mixing mangosteen peel with a lime solution to cure a wound, which resulted in the wound healing quickly.  Thus a study was initiated to investigate the possibility of isolating the biologically-active substances from the mangosteen peel.  This was the first mangosteen research based on international scientific standard, which involved cooperation from an interdisciplinary group of researchers. This initial research project lasted 8 years.  It was finally concluded that the most effective substance from mangosteen was GM-1. The research showed GM-1 had a high efficiency in inhibiting the growth of bacteria and killing bacteria that are antibiotic resistant.  It also has 3 times the anti-inflammatory properties of aspirin.  It is anti-allergic and pain-relieving (based on experimentation with mice) and has anti-cancer cells properties (based on laboratory testing).  It was also found that GM-1 is 5 times safer for human consumption than citric acid, which gives the sour taste in lemons and oranges.

However, at the time capital limitations and several strict rules and regulations reduced the possibility of developing GM-1 into an ingredient for modern medical drugs.  Therefore, the research group could only use GM-1  as the main component of a natural mixture for cosmetic ingredients to address problems of those with chronic skin problems and allergies.  Further research, development and testing with Henkel KGa of Germany resulted in production of such products as soap, cleansing gel, sunscreen, skin nourishing cream, bathing cream, acne cream, all highly effective with GM-1 as a main ingredient.  The products are tannin-free, so it does not discolour the users’ skin.

The research results of the Thai researcher group was publicized through the media and academic journals both in Thailand and overseas.  This resulted in an influx of many more researchers to the field, mainly Thai research groups.  In 2003, an American company made use of the research results in selling mangosteen juice in America and other parts of the world, creating an income of approximately Bt. 40,000 million in two years (by multi-level direct sales).  This triggered great competition in the production and distribution of mangosteen based products.  However, those mangosteen juice products appeared to be dark brown in color as they contained unprocessed mangosteen peel.  From a scientific perspective, these products were easily made but rather crude because unprocessed mangosteen peel is not supposed to be edible, but should be discarded as waste.  Boiling the peel to make herbal tea to drink to cure diarrhea can be consumed occasionally.  The older generation Thais learned from their experience that a long period of mangosteen peel consumption can produce negative side-effects.  This concurs with scientific fact as mangosteen peel contains a high amount of tannins which can cause constipation, increase toxicity in the liver and cause cancer in the cheek and intestine.  Moreover, mangosteen peel is likely to be contaminated with pesticides used during the farming process.

Thus, the Thai research team has been observing the mangosteen juice distribution with great concern fearing that over-consumption of the juice with the mangosteen peel could cause some unpleasant side-effects.  There have also been reports of some people suffering itching, constipation and diarrhea from using these products.  As the scientists who advocated benefits of GM-1, which has resulted in the production of many products containing mangosteen, the research team feels it is their responsibility to inform the public of the possible side-effects, along with advising the public how the safe and effective product  should be.

In 2007, when the price of mangosteen became too low for the farmers to bother harvesting it, the research team felt compelled to use their knowledge and research results, as well as their experience concerning mangosteen for the good use and for the benefit of the farmers.  That is, to produce a better and safer kind of mangosteen product than that made from mangosteen juice with unprocessed peel.

For the above reason, OPERATION “BIM” came into being and has continued earnestly and continuously until now.

Additional research shows that for the rapid immune balance, a large quantity of mangosteen substance is needed.  However it has been discovered that long-term over use, can lead to the accumulation of the substances which can affect the central nervous system.

Thus, improvement was sought by synergistically mixing the highly nutritious fruit and grain ingredients with GM-1.  This resulted in the special “BIM” formula.  After several tests to ensure the high efficiency, safety and absence of side- effects, the product was registered with the Office of Food and Drug Administration as dietary supplement capsules. Application has also been made for the patent of the formula.

In addition, the research team has developed another product, “BIM” mangosteen essence, which can yield similar results to the dietary supplement capsules.  “BIM” mangosteen essence, a sterilized pulp contains no artificial colour flavour or preservative.  It also contains no part of the outer peel to make it pesticide and tannin-free to ensure it has no negative side-effects. “BIM”  mangosteen essence can create immune balance in the same was as “BIM” capsules. “BIM” mangosteen essence has also been registered for patent rights on the production process since the middle of 2008.  The next plan is to gather capital from, investors in both the government and the private sectors to commercially produce it and make it the sole mangosteen essence from Thailand to safely and effectively enhance people’s health worldwide.

Within the first year of the introduction of the special natural product “BIM” into the market, consumers responded to it with satisfaction, as did the research team.  Reports of the effectiveness of the products by consumers have been received and the universal standard of laboratory testing with volunteers has also been passed.  All of this confirms that OPERATION “BIM” will surely be greatly beneficial to the world’s population and bring pride to all Thais in that Thai scientists could combine their wisdom, knowledge and experience as well as taking the challenge of thinking in an ‘unconventional’ way based on local tradition wisdom to develop such a top quality health product, and emerge as the number one in the world community of science and technology in this field.
